Amanda N. Bodine graduated from the California Western School of Law, cum laude, in 2004, where she earned her Juris Doctor degree. Prior to law school, Ms. Bodine completed her undergraduate work at The University of Arizona in Tucson, Arizona, and in 2001 earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with a focus in Finance.
While pursuing her law degree, Ms. Bodine anticipated pursuing a career in criminal law. During her studies she secured an internship with the San Diego Superior Court, Criminal Division, as well as an internship with the San Diego County District Attorney’s Office (Juvenile J.U.D.G.E. Unit). After in depth exposure to this difficult area of law, Ms. Bodine’s focus shifted. After graduation she joined a boutique law firm specializing in real estate law and the representation of Community Associations. However, after practicing in this area for over a year, Ms. Bodine realized that her desire to help others was not being fulfilled. Ms. Bodine was provided with the opportunity to join Larrabee | Mehlman | Albi | Coker LLP in 2005 to practice immigration law. Practice in this area of law enables her to support and guide foreign nationals through a complex legal system to reach their ultimate goal of becoming U.S. temporary and permanent residents.
As a senior associate attorney at Larrabee | Mehlman | Albi | Coker LLP, Ms. Bodine handles both nonimmigrant and immigrant matters for corporate clients and their foreign national employees in the high-technology industry, including telecommunications, biotechnology and information technology sectors, as well as in the pharmaceutical, engineering, semiconductor, financial services and healthcare industries. She is responsible for corporate client management, as well as individual representation on family-based immigration matters and naturalization.
Ms. Bodine advises corporate clients and their foreign national employees on all aspects of employment-based immigration. She assists with temporary visa categories, with a focus on the H-1B, TN, E-1, E-2, E-3, H-3, B, L-1, O and P visa classifications. Ms. Bodine also counsels corporate clients on employment-based permanent residency options, such as applications for permanent employment certification, the multinational executive/manager classification, extraordinary ability filings, outstanding researchers, and national interest waiver cases. Ms. Bodine is also experienced with the EB-5 Investor Visa Program.
Ms. Bodine also routinely counsels corporate clients on I-9, E-Verify, and Public Access File regulatory requirements. She conducts mock audits of corporate records to assist in client compliance in these areas, as well as assists clients in developing best practices to aid in regulatory compliance.
Ms. Bodine is a member of the California State Bar and the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA).
